What does the term “Massage” mean?

Oil applied during the massage gets assimilated by the bhrajaka pitta ( digestive fire ) existing in the skin and provides Shodhanam ( cleansing ), shamanam, ( balancing the doshas ) brmhanam ( nourishing the tissues).
