The seeker may pray by singing and chanting out the Lord's Name and Leelas, or through a verbal prayer invoking God's protection against ailments and sufferings."When God speaks to man, it is called Intuition. When man speaks to God it is called Prayer"

Importance of Prayers or Prarthanas        
      The need for Prayer often arises at the time of adversity. When the mind can no longer find a favorable solution to its immediate problems then it reverts back to its only source i.e. the Supreme Being who resides in every human. The need for prayer is sometimes an unconscious move taken by the mind. The guiding light of the Lord is often available to everyone, without any discrimination, at all times. The non-judgmental Lord provides protection to all his children. If the Lord's protection is available always, why wait for an adversity to strike before approaching him for his guidance? So the daily practice of saying one's prayer has a positive effect by stabilizing the mind and making it more capable of taking the right decisions.

Power of Prayers  
     The universe is composed of subtle energies. The prayers have verbal energy, which invokes the Lord's grace and transforms our prayers into the objects of our desire. The necessity of prayer first evolves from self-needs but the divine energy, which it assimilates, expands the self-motivation into a worldly cause. Prayers can also be done for others and mass praying (satisfying the requisites of a particular prayer) helps and heals to a greater extent as there are many people trying to channelise the energy of the Cosmos.

Prerequisites for prayer
       As mentioned above, chanting energizes the Deity-elements in the Cosmos. This energizing will be more effectual when the source from which it comes out, is unswerving and single-minded.

Faith : is the deep root whose strength crosses all obstacles . The power of faith is tremendous. It can draw in a colossal amount of cosmic energy and it helps us to reach the Lord better and faster and yield the desired results

Devotion : The love we bear for the Lord nurtures good thoughts and works towards purification of the self. The purity of the mind and the soul helps to gain better orientation, better concentration and hence a better response in our 'communication' with the Lord.
