Characteristic features of Vata :

1) Vatas are the thinnest of the three types, with characteristically narrow shoulders and/or hips.

2) When a Vata type is out of balance - such people shop compulsively without buying anything, talk without coming to a conclusion, and become chronically unsatisfied

3) The typical negative emotion brought out by stress is anxiety.

4) A balanced Vata person is infectiously happy, enthusiastic, and energetic. The mind is clear and alert; the inner tone is exhilarated. Vatas are extremely sensitive to change in their environment. They have quick, acute responses to sound and touch and dislike loud noise.

5)Health problems which are usually experienced by vata are chronic constipation , gas and Digestive cramps.

Characteristic features of Pitta :

1) Feel ravenously hungry if dinner is half an hour late.

2) Pittas generally have sharp, penetrating intellects and good powers of concentration.

3) Health problems usually experienced by pitta persons is heartburn, a tendency toward stomach ulcers, burning sensations in the intestine

Characteristic features of Kapha:

1) The basic theme of the Kapha type is "relaxed". Kapha dosha, the structural principle in the body, brings stability and steadiness

2) There is a strong tendency to gain weight easily - Kaphas have only to look at food to put on a few pounds

3) Kapha sleep is long and heavy.

4) Kaphas are the slowest learners, but, in compensation, they have good retention.
