3) Truth
Yadadhitya
yathasastram naro janati sattamah,
Dharmopadesavikhyatam karyakaryam subhasubham.
Translation:
By study of this scripture, A person learns the
truths of the matter; Of celebrated teachings of the scriptures-
Do's anddon'ts, beneficial and sinister.

4) Prayers
are the root of wise
Vipro vrikshastasya mulam ca sandhya
Vedah sakha dharmakamani patram
Tasmanmulam yatnato rakshaniyam
Chinne mule naiva sakha na patram.
Translation
The Vipra
is like a tree, whose roots are prayers*, The Vedas are its branches,
calls of duty as leaves, Therefore, diligently keep the roots
secure, Cutting off the roots, neither branches nor leaves endure.
