Ojas kriya(Vedic healing)
In the ancient days, the qualities of each and every food preparation and their effect on the tissues of healthy as well as diseased individuals of various constitutions were studied in detail. Hence we find references of dietary factors as etiological factors (Causative factor), which trigger off, subdue, as well as aggravate many disease processes.

In almost all diseases Ayurveda has advised the avoidance of certain food items, which have a tendency to aggravate the disease and
consumption of certain food items that have a beneficial effect on the recovery from the disease.

In the ancient scriptures there are lots of references to show the importance of food and its affect on our body and mind. It is commonly said as-

“What we eat so we belch” -ie we are always nourished by the food what we eat and we tend to show the qualities of food we eat regularly/habituated to. Eg Eating natural food brings in more Satvic qualities (Clear mentality) in a person.

Food can be therapeutic in several ways. It provides nutrient that is needed to a healthy as well as a sick person in a form he or she can use. It also provides nutrients for persons who are deficient in them. Sometimes food also supplies chemical that aids in the metabolism of other nutrients .
