Drishtiputam nyasetpadam vastraputam pibejjalam
Sastraputam vadedvakyam manahputam samacaret.
Translation:
Look before you take a step,
Filter the water through cloth before you sip; Conform to scriptures
while speaking up, For conscience's sake, obey it's whip!

Ayuh karma ca vittam ca vidya nidhanameva ca,
Pancaitani hi srijyanten garbhasthasyaiva dehinah
Translation:
Life span, occupation, wealth, Education and how the death will
occur; These five are determined while a person, Is in the womb
of the mother.
