Scorpio Constellation Stars Story

The Latin word “Scorpion” means “the creature with the burning sting”. According to Greek mythology, Orien was a hunter and a fearless warrior who wanted to rule the earth, and for that, he was ready to kill all the animals on the planet. So the Goddess of Earth, Gaia, had to protect the innocent animals of the earth and ordered Scorpio to kill Orien before he could harm animals. The Scorpio stung Orien by the stinger and killed Orien. As a reward, the Goddess Gaia placed the Scorpio sign in the Sky. Scorpio can be seen chasing Orien across the sky during the year, it hunts Orien in the winter, and when Spring comes, the Scorpio star constellation appears to be chasing Orien again. The Scorpius only rises after Orien vanishes or vice versa, that is, when Orien rises, and the Scorpius vanishes due to their rivalry. In another myth, the Greek Goddess Artemis ordered the Scorpion to send Orien away. In Greek legends, the Scorpio constellation was very big and comprised of two parts, one part that formed the body and the sting of the Scorpion while another part that formed the claws of the scorpion.
