The Significance of Ashadha Amavasya
The day of the Amavasya occurs once a month when the moon is nowhere to be seen in the sky. According to the Hindu religion, the day is very auspicious for several reasons. Although every Amavasya serves a different purpose it is believed that the Amavasya that falls on a Monday is highly auspicious as it is very dear to Lord Shiva.
