Indira Ekadashi

Indira Ekadashi: Indira Ekadashi is the name given to the Ekadashi of the Ashwin month, Krishna Paksha. Indira Ekadashi 2021 will be celebrated on the 2nd of October. This Ekadashi is particularly noteworthy because it occurs during the month of Pitru Paksha. An ancestor’s redemption is said to be gained by keeping the Indira Ekadashi fast, which is observed every year on this day. This fast is believed to be the most precious and holy of all of the fasts because of its significance. According to the belief, by properly following this fast, a person’s afterlife improves, and if for some reason his ancestors did not receive salvation, then salvation for himself or herself becomes a possibility as well. They are liberated from Pitruloka because of the grace of Shri Hari, who has removed their sins and rescued them from the torments they had been subjected to. Devarshi Narada Muni arrived in the king’s court one day while the king was speaking with his ministers who were seated in the court. However, due to a mistake in his former birth, your father is bound to live in Yamaloka. Your father has sent me here with this message so that I can tell you the complete thing. When King Indrasen heard this, he grew upset and asked Devarshi Narad ji what other messages he had delivered. The sage told him that he had instructed him to fast on the Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha in Ashwin month so that his previous birth’s sins would be erased and he could go for Baikunth Dham. When King Indrasen inquired about how to observe the Ekadashi fast, Narad ji advised that on the tenth day, just a day before Indira Ekadashi, one should bathe in the river and conduct Shradh for the ancestors. Worship Lord Vishnu and eat fruits on Ekadashi. Your father will gain virtuous benefits as well as you by following this fast.
